RS Mrs Smith
Welcome to RS
Teacher: Mrs Melissa Smith
TA: Mrs Lynda Lawrence
We have an 'open door policy'. Please feel free to talk to us at the start or end of the day. No question is too small! Alternatively, you can email the class teacher on:
Stars of the week!
Our 'Learning Star' of the week is...
Minsa for wowing Mrs Smith with an excellent piece of independent writing.
Our 'Value Star' of the week is...
Reuben for showing love to everyone and consistenty showing all of his school Christian Values.
- Our class PE day is every Friday. Please ensure that your child has their full PE kit in school. Thank you!
- Please remember that the school gates will open at 8:30am and the register will be taken at 8:40am. The children can be picked up anytime between 3:00-3:20pm.
- We ask that your child brings their (labelled) PE kit to school on a daily basis. They can wear their PE kit to school every Friday in place of their school uniform.
- New 'Home Learning' activities will be handed out every Friday. These will then be collected for marking on Wednesday.
- We endeavour to read with your child twice a week and change their books on these occasions.
Please, please, please ensure that EVERY item your child brings into school is clearly labelled with their name. Items will inevitably become misplaced and it makes it a lot easier to return items to their owners when things are labelled. Thank you so much!
In Class RS we are always kind to each other and we treat the people the way that we would like to be treated ourselves.
We have KIND hands,
and KIND words.
We remember this through our school Christian Values and we let our LIGHTS shine!
Check out what we will be learning during the Summer Term!
Our Learning in RS
It was Sport's Day this week and didn't they do well?! A very hot and sticky day but they persevered and showed great spirit. We have been looking at sharing and counting in two's as a part of our Maths learning. In Literacy we have been storymapping the Gruffalo - RS have blown Mrs Smith away with how brilliantly they know the story! In RE we have been continuing to find out about Judaism - this week we learnt about the sacred text, The Torah.
These are some of the facts that we can remember about Judaism from what we have learned so far...
Logan - "The Star of David" is the sign for Judaism.
Jacob - "Moses was a special baby. His mummy put him in a basket and floated him down the river."
Minsa - "Moses threw his stick on the floor and it turned into a snake."
Elsie - "Moses spoke to God in the story about the Burning Bush."
Reuben - "There was a new emperor (Pharoah) who made Moses' people slaves!"
Harry - "The menorah. This is a special candle that people light. It makes them think about God and reminds them of the burning bush."
Our Jack and the Beanstalk Display
Look at our Time Working Wall!
Do you remember that we planted some beans a few weeks ago? Look at them now! The tallest is 34 cm tall! I wonder how much more they will grow?
Minibeast hunting - "We're going on a wellywalk, we're going to fnd some minibeasts...we're not scared!"
Christmas in RS
We have been invaded by a naughty elf in RS this week! Meet Pickles...
He has been causing lots of trouble in our classroom. He stole the star from the top of our Christmas tree! How naughty! He did leave us with a behaviour peg with his name on though so we immediately put him on 'Think About It'. We really hope that he returns out star soon!
